GRAFIX Shrink Film A4 Red

Grafix Shrink Film is a form of polystyrene that is heated and stretched until a flexible thin sheet is formed. When heated again, the plastic returns to its original dimension and thickness. It is favoured for card and jewellery making, and scrapbooking.

Shrink film work with acrylic, ink and permanent markers, and designs created by these mediums will bond permanently after it shrinks. Simple designs become crisper, elaborate designs look amazingly detailed, and colours look rich and vibrant.

Features
- Shrinks to 45% of its original size when baked in a conventional oven or heated with an emboss heater.
- Thickness 0.2mm; Shrink to thickness 1.8mm.
- Non toxic.,- Excellent for acrylic, ink and permanent markers; Bond permanently to surface after shrinking.
- Not suitable for wax crayons and pencils, and oil paint.
- Single sheet in 220mm x 280mm.

Tips:
- Trace by laying over design or draw design on film.
- Before baking, the film can be cut with craft or regular scissors, craft knives or die cut systems; Holes can also be made with a paper punch.
- Place Shrink Film between 2 sheets of stiff cardboard, teflon sheet, parchment paper or vellum to minimize curling. This is especially helpful when shrinking pieces longer than 2”. Do not bake on bare metal or stoneware.
- Bake 2-3 pieces at a time in a preheat oven between 300° and 350°.
- The pieces will curl and then flatten. Do not remove from oven until the pieces are flat. If the edges stick to each other, remove it from the oven, flatten with a spatula and reheat to complete the shrinking process.
- All ovens vary. Consider testing Shrink Film with some scraps before shrinking your final pieces.
- The larger a Shrink Film piece stars, the harder it is to shrink consistently without curling.
- Rolling a drinking glass over Shrink Film is a great way to flatten it after baking. Consider using a glove when handling Shrink Film, pieces will be HOT.
