Let's celebrate National Day with mindfulness*. Use Zentangle techniques to create beautiful pieces of Zentangle Inspired Art inspired by our love for all things Singapore!

Participants should preferably have knowledge and experience of the Zentangle method or taken the Zentangle 101 class.

The process of creating Zentangle™* is a form of "artistic meditation' as one becomes completely engrossed in making each pattern, deliberately focusing on "one stroke at a time". the creativity options and pattern combinations are boundless. And anyone can do it!

*Zentangle and mindfulness practices are denominational. All are welcome!

About the instructors:
Mabel Yap, Lim Kim Choo and Aileen Chia are certified Zentangle teachers, taught personally by the founders of Zentangle, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, in Rhode Island. 

Mabel is also a watercolor artist, calligrapher, and a member of the Singapore watercolor society and Botanical Art Society, Singapore. She has been painting since 2010, and enjoys painting landscapes, florals, botanical art and brush lettering. Mabel has taught Zentangle and watercolor to more than 800 people since 2014. She is also a trained mindfulness teacher (Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self Compassion, Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy-Life) and will infuse the Zentangle classes with mindfulness. 

Kim Choo enjoys dabbling with various form of art and craft including bookbinding, sewing, drawing, brush lettering, Zentangle and more. Kim Choo is an experienced certified Zentangle teacher, and is also an experienced instructor of bookbinding and brush lettering. 

Aileen's art and craft journey began more than 10 years ago, when she learnt to tat. Since then she's been continuing on her journey, venturing into various other arts and crafts such as cross stitch, crochet, sewing, brush lettering and more. In more recent times, Aileen has been exploring adventures in sketching, drawing and watercolours. Having first taken one of Mabel and Kim Choo’s classes in 2017, Aileen became a Certified Zentangle Teacher in 2019 and has been co-teaching Zentangle classes with Mabel and Kim Choo since. 

Each of the instructors brings their own experiences, artistic style and perspectives to share with the workshop participants and to help participants embark on their own artistic journeys.
